Featuring 50 lift facilities and over 1200ha of skiable terrain, Perisher Blue is twice as big as Mt. Buller the second largest Australian ski resort. In possession of the largest skiable terrain in the southern hemisphere, Perisher Blue is the answer to Europe´s mega resorts. Perisher Valley is located near the boarder of New South Wales and Victoria in the heart of the Snowy Mountains. Unlike the main resorts in Victoria (Hotham, Falls Creek and Mt. Buller), Perisher Blue is comfortably accessible by car (without driving 30km on serpentine roads). In case of good weather conditions, it takes only 30min to drive the road from Jindabyne to Perisher Valley Alpine Village. From Sydney it is a 5 – 6 hours drive which makes Perisher Blue and the adjacent Thredbo ski resort the nearest ski fields to both Sydney and Canberra. We recommend to travel on the Monaro Highway via Cooma, Berridale and Jindabyne up to Perisher Valley. Like in all other ski resorts in Australia snow chains are compulsory and must be carried to enter Kosziuszko National Park. Furthermore an entry fee must be paid to enter the roads into the national park.
