Resort Review Ratschings Jaufen - Beginners
Beginners lift down in the valley and a kids park at the „Rinneralm“!

At a first glance at the trail map beginners could be slightly deterred as the resort almost completely consists of category red runs. The few easiest category areas are usually transition routes. Still, down in the valley, it was thought of beginners: down in the valley you’ll find a plate lift which gives access to terrain manageable by beginners. Here greenhorns can practice before checking out more demanding terrain. The descents at the „Enzian“ e.g. are always a good choice. Although the runs there are marked as category red they should be manageable by those who not stand on skis for the first time. The transition paths howeer should be avoided by less expirienced riders as you need a lot of speed to get through them. You’ll also find a skiing school at the resort. They created a very nice kids area at the „Rinneralm“ which is accesible via magic carpet lifts. The modern ski lift facilities are also something that makes things easier for greenhorns. To sum it up: You’ll definitely find more beginner friendly skiing resort, but we cannot generally advise beginners against a visit at „Ratschings-Jaufen“.
