Rossfeld: A Small family oriented ski resort in the German Alps!

The Rossfeld is doubtless one of the smallest skiing-areas in the Alps. Due to its unique location on a sun-drenched mountain terrace at an altitude of 1500 metres above sea level, Rossfeld provides a great view over the “Salzachtal” (Salzach-valley) and Salzburg, the home town of Mozart. Three t-bar lifts and two practice slopes are at the skiers disposal. Skiers who take the descent down to Oberau are brought back to Rossfeld by bus. The ski resort is most conveniently accessible from the north via the highway A93 (Munich), exit Bad Reichenhall. Then follow the main road B20 till Berchtesgaden and continue to Oberau using the B305. From now on you can follow the signs to the “Rossfeld Panoramstraße” (Rossfeld panorama road). We recommend to use the parking lots in Oberau and to take the RVO ski bus to cover the last kilometers up to the Rossfeld. This way you don´t have to pay for using the Rossfeld Panoramastraße which is liable to charges. If you are coming to Berchtesgaden from Austria it´s best to take the “Tauernautobahn” (Tauern Highway) A10, exit Salzburg Süd (Salzburg South).
