Saas-Fee! – Reliable snowfall!
The ski resort Saas-Fee stretches from 1800m to a final height of 3500m above sea level, making it possible for it to live up to its reputation of having snowfall you can oretty much always count on. In the last few years, Saas-Fee has become one of the best-known ski resorts in the world. Yet somehow its little mountain village has been able to maintain all its original Swiss charm – at least in its center. The only way to get there by car is by heading west on the A9 until you hit Sion, and then going toward Visp. Once you get to Visp, just follow the signs to Saas-Fee, which will lead you through Stalden. The first thing that will hit your eye once you get there is sure to be the gigantic concrete parking garage. Since cars aren't allowed at Saas-Fee, drivers are required to leave their cars there and take the approximately 10 minute walk to the base terminal of the Alpin Express. The parking is not free, however, which means that in addition to your lift ticket, you'll have to pay another 15 Swiss francs for one day of skiing. This evaluation was made in the winter.
