What leaps out at you the moment you start your first run at “Schladming” are the numerous colorful figures at the sides of the slope. Among all these cute little dwarfs, comic figures and funny animals the youngsters will surely feel comfortable. What is missing are baby/practice lifts for real beginners. Also there is only one designated children’s area throughout the whole resort, which is located at the “Larchkogel” (run # 8). With 3 category blue and 14 category red slopes there are enough options for families to ride together. Some of the category red runs, however, might be a little challenging for the younger audience. A big plus in the category family friendliness are the reasonable prices for food and beverages most lodges throughout the resort. This is definitely not the case in all skiing areas.
