What struck us as positive in the ski resort Schmittenhöhe are the many funny little figures at the lifts which make Schmittenhöhe very attractive to the young among skiers and boarders. The huge “dragons” and “bees” certainla are kids-magnets and ensure diversity. Many little kidsparks provide families with a great array of kids facilities to choose from. A special highlight is the “Schmidolino-kids parks” at the unfortunately not so frequented trail 7 (see trail map). Apart from the art themepark “traces in the snow” a wave lift can be found which trains the kids balance. Especially recommendable trails for families who want to ski together are the intermediate trails 14 and 9. However parents have to be watchful not to land on one of the 6 difficult black runs as that could turn into a dangerous adventure. All in all the ski resort Schmittenhöhe is very recommendable also for families.
