With 64 earmarked trails solitude is naturally not among the largest ski resorts in Utah. Just around Salt Lake City there are several resorts that are considerably larger. But especially for newcomers to snow-sports Solitude provides more than enough. Advantageous is the fact that the resort is less frequented than its competitors. The gentle trails are all made accessible by the “Moonbeam” quadruple chair which takes the novices to the well sounding easy trails "Little Dollie", "Pokey-Pine" und "Same Street". At the double chair another easy slope is at the beginners disposal, however the “Easy Street Trail” also functions as a connection between Solitude Village and the Moonbeam Base Area and is therefore highly frequented which might irritate inexperienced skiers. Those that have gained confidence on ski or snowboard can then venture into the grounds at the “Apex” and “Sunrise” chair lifts. The trails at the “Powderhorn” and “Summit” lifts however are too challenging for unskilled skiers and should therefore be avoided!
