Steamboat - the home of "Champagne Powder"
The world famous expression „Champagne Powder“ originates from Steamboat, one of Colorado`s most northern ski resorts. This is not surprising as 900 cm of yearly snowfall is average. It is consequently no exception to ski through finest waist high powder. As Steamboat is further away from Denver as Vail or Breckenridge for instance, the resort is less frequented and the powder runs remain pristine longer. Steamboat is 270 km away from Denver. It is most recommendable to travel there via Interstate 70 west to Silverthorne. Then take the highway 9 north to Kremmling, where you must continue on the US40 via the “Rabbit Ears” pass to Steamboat. . In Steamboat Springs several free parking lots in proximity to lift facilities are located. While most American ski resorts try to copy European resorts Steamboat is proud of its Wild West flair which certainly adds to Steamboats charm.…| Final grade: |
