"The Canyons" is one of three ski resorts in proximity to Salt Lake City, the 2002 host of the Olympic Games. Consequently the Slalom, Giant Slalom and snowboarding competitions took place in this friendly resort.. With a total of 106 km of skiable terrain and 17 highly modern lift facilites it is also Utah`s largest ski resort. Since 1997 when “The Canyons” was taken over by the American Skiing Company a lot of money has been invested in lift facilities and trails. Due to its proximity to Salt Lake City (40km!!!) it is well frequented. From Salt Lake City Airport follow the Interstate 80 to Exit 145 in direction Park City. “The Canyons” is located few kilometres before “Park City”. The free parking lots at the bases are signposted.
