Resort Review Treble Cone - Intermediate Skiers

Breathtaking panorama and beautiful terrain for skilled skiers!

Evaluation Intermediate Skiers: Treble Cone: Evaluation: 4
For skilled skiers “Treble Cone” is an absolute must-do in New Zealand. The ski resort stretches over 550 hectares and is therefore the largest ski resort in the “Southern Alps”. The slopes at the "home basin" give access to beautiful views of the deep blue “Lake Wanaka” and the snow covered peaks of the “Mount Aspiring” national park. Those that prefer groomed terrain should definitely stick to the “Home Basin”. “Ridge Run”, “Main Street” and “Big Skite” are the nicest slopes at the “Home Basin” for skilled skiers. The “Saddle Basin” (see trail map) is a huge off-piste play ground and therefore only for those that are strong of lung and leg. The “Shooter”, “Cloud Nine” or the “Super Pipe” slopes located there, truly are a standout in terms of natural beauty and will leave a lasting impression. The “Double Diamond” slopes in the “Hollywood Bowl” (“Motatapu Basin”) should only be ventured into by very experienced alpinists and freeriders. Extremely steep and much to dangerous for leisure skiers!!
