Experts skiers will be happy to find that apart from the three red trails off Hinterberg and Steinermandl (nos. 304 and 305), Jochtal also has three black runs, leading off the upper terminal of the Jochtal gondola (no. 301) back down into the valley. Of those three, our favorite was the middle, extremely steep one. Another definite plus is how reliable the snowfall is in the Eisack Valley region. What experts won't find here is a permanent downhill course and good freeriding possibilities. That and the size of the ski area led to a score of only 3 stars in the Freeriders/Experts' category.
