More advanced skiers and snowboarders should head over to the red trails off the Hinterberg and Steinermandl chairlifts (nos. 304, 305). The three blacks from the upper terminal of the Jochtal gondola are also challenging choices, and the one in the middle is especially steep. The trail coming off of Schwand, on the other hand, will be of less interest to you. The great chances of finding good snow at beautiful weather at Vals help make your trip to Vals a memorable and enjoyable one. The ski area will soon be linked to Gitschberg, which should make the Eisack Valley an even more popular destination among intermediate skiers. The current ski area above Vals might not provide enough variety for some skiers.
