In the family category Villard de Lans narrowly misses our top mark of 5 stars. All though there is only one small kids park at the mountain station of “Pre des Preys” – gondola, the ski resort really did convince us. Apart from the speed limited “Zones Débutants” (beginners area) there is also the ski school“Stade ESF (Ecole du Ski Francais) and separate ski school areas, so the kids can learn to obtain confidence on skis in a secure environment. Those ski school areas are integrated in the ski resort, one being at the tow lift Jaux 1, the other at the terrain around the lift Falaise 1 – 2. And once the kiddies have mastered their first steps on skis successfully the entire family can ski down one of the very easy descents to the valley.
