„Walmendingerhorn“- The insiders tip in the „Kleinwalsertal“

The “Walmendingerhorn”, with its predominantly moderate level of difficulty and 12 kilometers of slopes, is located at the end of the “Kleinwalser” valley and is a highlight for true winter sports aficionados. You enter the resort via the large-capacity gondola directly at “Mittelberg” (1124 meters above sea level). Unfortunately the parking space at the base station of the resort is in short supply and you’ll hardly find a parking spot where you don't have to pay a parking fee. It thus definitely makes sense to leave the car at the hotel and take the ski-shuttle to the base station. The “Kleinwalsertal” is known for being located on Austrian territory, but only reachable by car via German ground. The easiest way to reach the resort is via the autobahn “A 7” towards the highway junction “Allgäu”, where you switch over to the “A 380”. Once you’ve reached “Waltenhoven”, take the federal highway “B19” towards “Oberstdorf”. In that region the “Kleinwalsertal” is already well sign-posted. From there on just follow the “Walsertal” road “B19” until you reach “Mittelberg”, where the base station of the “Walmendingerhorn” gondola is located.
