Resort Review Whakapapa Mt Ruapehu - Snowboarders
Two terrain parks and fantastic free ride terrain

Whakapapa leaves nothing to be desired in the snow boarding department. Two terrain parks at the “Rockgarden Chair” and the “Hutt Flat” practicing area feature jumps, boxes, rails, quarter and halfpipes. Powder cracks will find their dreams come true in the areas “Amphitheatre” and “The Pinnacles” (be ware of steeps!) where they can meet a true challenge. For all snowboarding beginners the “Happy Valley” practicing area is certainly recommendable. The “Double Harry Chair” (E) facilitates an easy and convenient introduction to snow sports without the hassle of tow lifts! For those who have had some boarding experience but still don’t feel secure enough to venture into ungroomed terrain we recommend the numerous groomed slopes of intermediate level (marked blue) at the “West Ridge Quad” (B).
