Winterpark is a bit off the highly frequented Interstate 70 and the larger ski resorts in Summit County. Those wanting to let the evening wind down in a restaurant or a bar will find a sufficient array of localities but nothing extraordinary in downtown Winterpark. Discos are not to be found in the resort. “The Derailer Bar” however is a good alternative as the atmosphere is jovial and they offer a nice choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. For a lunch-break from skiing we recommend “The Lodge at Sunspot” – a rustic and charming mountain restaurants on 3261 meters above sea level. Indulge in international specialties while enjoying the extraordinary view of the Rocky Mountains Continental Divide. The “Lodge at Sunspot” and their sunny patio is quite popular therefore special tickets are offered for non-winterathletes who can get to the lodge with the “Zephyr Express”.
