We enjoyed in Winterpark that gentle terrain can be found almost in the entire resort. Beginners can therefore tap the whole potential of Winterpark without having to conquer difficult terrain. Officially only 8 % of Winterparks terrain is indicated as easy level terrain, however the entire Off-Piste -Area was included in the calculation. We estimate the amount of easy terrain to be more around15-20%. The subareas Vasquez Ridge, Winterpark und Mary Jane provide slopes like “Whistlestop", "Village Way" or "Jack Kendrick” which take beginners gently down into the valley. Solely the Parsenn Bowl and Vasquez Cirque subareas should be left to skilled skiers only. Also the slopes located in the eastern parts of the resort around the “Challenger” and “Iron Horse” chair are of difficult level and much too challenging for novice skiers. All those that want to try first steps on skis have two beautiful beginner areas at their disposal, the kids parks “Discovery Park” and “Sorensen Park”. The Mary Jane base also provides the “Galloping Goose” practicing slope!
