Winterpark obtained our “Top for Families“ award with 4.5 out of 5 possible stars. The reasons for the resorts success are obvious. As mentioned in the beginner category the excellent array of easy terrain despite the fact that more than half of the terrain in Winterpark is earmarked difficult is certainly a bonus. In case families want to spend the day on the slopes together the terrain around the "Prospector Express", "Looking Glass", "Olympia Express" and "Eskimo Express" is recommendable as the slopes made accessible by the lift facilities are all of easy or intermediate level. If kids prefer to learn how to ski with professional help we recommend the “Kid`S Adventure Junction” right at the Winterpark base. It is recommendable to book the ski school beforehand at www.skiwinterpark.com in order to profit from special offers. We however strongly advise against venturing into the terrain at the Vasquez Cirque. The very demanding descents there should be left to expert skiers only. But Winterpark has some more in store for families. The "Devil´s Thumb Ranch", "Snow Mountain Ranch" und "Fraser Experimental Forest Ranger Station" are 3 cross country skiing centers which feature 200km of cross-country-ski-tracks. Famlily-fun guaranters are also horse-drawn sleigh rides, snowtubing or snowshoe tours.
