A few easy trails at the „Riffelberg“ and the „Theodul“ Glacier!

„Zermatt“ is definitely not a resort for beginners. The runs around the „Matterhorn“ are very demanding, very crowded and often very narrow. With the necessary information however, also less expirienced riders can spend a fun holiday in „Zermatt“. Should you make it to the glacier lifts at the „Theodul“ you’ll find some super wide and easily manageable runs (Nr. 78 & 73). Also the runs Nr. 36, 37 & 38 between the „Gornergrat“(3089 m) and the „Riffelberg“ (2582 m) are nice slopes for novices. All those who venture to the Italian side oft he resort will find a true beginner paradise around „Breuil Cervinia“. Unfortunately those runs are located far up the mountain so in order to get back down to the base area you have to either manage the really steep base descent or take the gondola. At the base station „Trockener Steg“ (2939 m) there is a short tow-lift which caters especially to total snow sports novices.
