Resort Review Zermatt - Intermediate Skiers
„Zermatt“ – ski paradise for skilled skiers!

Intermediate skiers will probably find little, if any fault at all with Zermatt. The very fact that it is snuggled to the slopes of the most beautiful mountain in the world guarantees a one-of-a-kind holiday experience. On a clear skied day the ride up hill alone will probably make a lasting impression before you even hit the slopes! The extraordinarily beautiful "Matterhorn" rising up into the sky right before your eyes is a sight you'll never forget. Let alone further (believe it or not) 29 moutains which count 4000 meter and higher, amongst them the highest Swiss mountain the „Dufuourspitze“ (4634 m)is certainly a panorama that can be counted among the worlds most beautiful and spectacular! Once you’ve reached the mountain station and slipped into your skis 313 well-groomed kilometers of slope lie before you. (This includes the regions „Valtournenche“ and „ Breuil-Cervinia“). A total of 60 % of the terrain is categoriezed intermediate level terrain and is therefore ideal for sportive skiers. Should the slopes be very crowded, here a tip from our side: The t-bar-lift „R“/ „Hörnerlift“ (see trail map) at the resort area „Schwarzsee-Pardise“ will take you as close as possible to the „Matterhorn“ and only few skiers lose their way to this corner of the resort. One little downer however needs to be mentioned: As „Zermatt“ is car-free, accessing the resort is rather difficult and you’ll definitely spend some time in ski-lift-facilities. (The „Gornergratbahn“ for example takes 45 minutes to reach the mountain station.)
