The alpine region of Alta Valtellina lies in Lombardy. In Alta Valtellina four popular ski resorts formed one major associated ski resort, named after the region "Alta Valtellina". At the very western end of Alta Valtellina lies Livigno ski resort. Livigno is a paradise for freeskiers and snowboarders. Two fun parks guarantee endless freestyle fun. But there is also a lot to do for the "normal" skiers: 25 kilometers of excellent slopes, mostly for advanced skiers and experts. Not far east of Livigno lies Valdidentro in the Stilfser Joch National Park. There, you can go skiing beneath Cima Piazzi Glacier on more than 30 kilometers of groomed slopes. A little further to the east lies Bormio, the largest of the four ski resorts. It offers more than 50 Kilometers of finest slopes that thrill skiers from all over the world. At the eastern end of Alta Valtellina lies Santa Caterina Valfurva. There are 30 Kilometers of slopes of all difficulties for everyone. Also, there are 15 kilometers of cross-country ski tracks at Santa Caterina.
