The Ski Resort
The Hirschberg lifts are a small but fine ski area in the Tegernsee Valley, only a good hour's drive from the Bavarian capital Munich. The tranquil ski area on the Hirschberg is particularly suitable for mastering the first swings on two boards in a safe environment. Even Olympic champion Viktoria Rebensburg learned to ski in Kreuth.
Beginners are in good hands in the lower part of the ski area. The gentle practice slopes are accessed via the Zwergerllift, directly at the ski school, as well as via Muli I and the practice lift. Advanced skiers can take the Muli II lift up. From there a red marked downhill run leads back to the base station. Really sporty skiers can reach the highest point of the ski area at 1,271 metres with the large drag lift, which is incidentally the longest in the Tegernsee Valley. From the top station a steep slope marked in black leads into the red marked slope.
Interesting facts
- The vertical drop from summit to base is 421 m. The average difference in altitude between base and summit of Ski Resorts in Germany is 214 m. Most runs are therefore relatively long. The ski resort takes you to an elevation of 1,271 m.
- Average snow depth during the season is 69 cm at summit elevation and 41 cm at base elevation. Snow coverage is usually best during February, offering an average snow depth of 79 cm at summit elevation and 44 cm at the base.
- Hirschberg Kreuth features 33 sunny days on average per season. The average for all ski Resorts in Germany is 17 sunny days. January is the sunniest month with an average of 12 sunny days.

Activities
On the Hirschberg you can not only ski, but also toboggan. Sledges can be rented at the ski rental. If you want to know more about sledging, you should visit the nearby Rottach-Egern carriage museum. On an area of 700 square meters old carriages, coaches and sledges are exhibited.

Getting here
Coming via the A8 Munich-Salzburg, you first leave the motorway at the Holzkirchen exit. Then follow the B318 via Gmund and Bad Wiessee. About two kilometres after the natural cheese dairy, turn right at Kreuth-Point and then drive straight on to the car park.
