Porcupine Mountain: Enjoy Skiing At Lake Superior!
With its origins dating back to 1940 Porcupine Mountain was one of the first ski areas in the Midwest. Today it is part of the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. It is located on the shore of Lake Superior which makes skiing there an outstanding experience. Enjoy incomparable views while getting down the hill! The ski area offers 40 hectares of skiable terrain with trails for all ability levels. Choose from 42 unique trails. In addition, Porcupine Mountains offers another 40 hectares of in bounds backcountry skiing. Take a snowcat tour and discover the natural steeps, bumps and stashes of Porcupine Mountain. Moreover, Porcupine Mountain is especially recommendable to those who love Nordic Skiing. Here you will find some of the most picturesque trails in the country! There are 42 km of groomed trails. Choose from 4 main trails and several minor trails and glide along Lake Superior´s shore and enjoy this unique landscape of water snow and ice!
