The Reuttener Seilbahnen (trams) give access to the ski resort Hahnenkamm. With 16 kilometers (five blues, nine kilometers of intermediate trails and two kilometers pure expert terrain) the ski resort is considered to be ideal for families. It separates into a high-altitude ski resort at Hahnenkamm and the much smaller resort Schollwiese.

The last-mentioned features some beginner terrain where you can learn fast and build up some confidence quick. About 30 ha are pretty snow sure thanks to the snow making facilities. With help of four lifts you can actually get up to a height of 1900 meters (6233 feet) above sea level and off you go on the pleasurable runs at Hahnenkamm.

Beginners may attend skiing and snowboarding lessons at the local ski school to expand on their abilities. You will always be attended by specially instructors who will do everything to make your learning experience a pleasant and memorable one.

Interesting facts

  • The vertical drop from summit to base is 986 m. The average difference in altitude between base and summit of Ski Resorts in Austria is 720 m. Most runs are therefore relatively long. The high point of the ski resort is located at an elevation of 1,900 m.
  • Average snow depth during the season is 126 cm at summit elevation and 43 cm at base elevation. Snow coverage is usually best during February, offering an average snow depth of 153 cm at summit elevation and 55 cm at the base.
  • Reutte - Hahnenkamm features 41 sunny days on average per season. The average for all ski Resorts in Austria is 41 sunny days. February is the sunniest month with an average of 14 sunny days.

On Mountain Dining

When time has come for a break you can choose between two different restaurants that will cater right to your appetite: The panorama restaurant Hahnenkamm right next to top station offers a great view of the surrounding mountain world. In addition to yummy food you can use the Wi-Fi that is totally free of charge. ´Step out of your bed and be right on the ski trail´- every skier´s dream comes true when you sleep at Singer Hütte at Hahnenkamm. They will also take good care of you food-wise.

Activities

Even when the skiing day comes to an end it never gets boring here. Ice-skating, tobogganing and snow shoe hikes through the winter landscape make your time away from the trails enjoyable. Altogether boasts Reutte including the surrounding towns more than 70 kilometers (43,4 miles) of winter hiking tracks that wait for you to be explored. If you are more of a romantic person, enjoy wrapped up in thick blankets, a horse sleigh ride through the snowy forests. After an exhausting ski day is a the Alp thermal bath Ehrenberg in Reutte the right address to find the perfect source of relaxation.

The nature park region Reutte is welcoming for all cross-country ski fans and features 120 kilometers (74,5 miles) of well-prepared trails. 90 kilometers (56 miles) are classic prepared and 30 kilometers (18,6 miles) are prepared for skating. Along your way you will get to see beautiful frozen lakes and snowy meadows as far as the eye can see. Close to Waldrast you´ll find a lighted cross-country ski run. If you want to go on a tour grab a lift and get up the Hahnenkamm every Tuesday from 6 to 10 pm.

Après-Ski and Nightlife

Ramba Zamba Express has a reputation for good nightlife. It´s right at the base station of the Reuttener Seilbahnen (tram). The umbrella bar Almrausch in front of the mountain hut Singer Hütte at Hahnenkamm invites you to sample their great drinks and awesome music.

Getting here

By car

Coming from Munich take A95 via Wolfratshausen until you get to Eschenlohe and after follow B2 to Oberau. From here continue on B23 to Ettal. Make a turn onto St2060 (L255) and pass lake Plansee until you reach Reutte.

If you´re coming from Ulm/ Memmingen, take A 7 via Kempten to Füssen, where the A7 becomes the B179 (fernpass road). Follow until you reach Oberletzen  and after change onto L69 that brings you right to Reutte.

If you are coming from the south-east (Innsbruck) follow A12 to Mötz and as soon as you get there you change on the B189. Then come via Obsteig to Nassereith and take B179 (fernpass road) to Reutte.

By Public Transportation

Reutte has its own train station and is therefore easy accessible via train.

By Plane

The next airport is Innsbruck and about 95 kilometers (59 miles) away from Reutte. From here you can take the train to train station Reutte.
