Schweitzer Mountain Resort: The Big Mountain For Families!

Schweitzer Mountain Resort is located in the very north of Idaho approximately 80 km south of the Canadian border. The area consists of two bowls adding up to 1174 hectares of skiable terrain. This makes Schweitzer Mountain one of the largest resorts in North America. You can choose from 92 trails that give everyone a choice no matter if novice or expert. Explore smooth groomers, gladed runs, steep terrain and wide cruisers! Pause for a moment on the summit and savor the incomparable mountain scenery. From here you can see 3 states, Canada and 3 mountain ranges. From the top you have access to trails for all ability levels. This makes Schweitzer Mountain also a great resorts for families as they can ride lifts together and then split up according to their ability before meeting again at the lift. In addition, there is a daycare available where professional staff will take care of your kids while you enjoy the great slopes and trails of Schweitzer Mountain. Moreover, there is a variety of children programs to choose from at the Snowsports School. However, that doesn´t mean that adults aren´t welcome! There are also great programs for adults of all ability levels available. Two Terrain Parks are ready to give freestylers a challenge. Skiers and riders who are looking for a real big mountain experience can go snowcat skiing at the backside of Schweitzer. In addition, Schweitzer has a lot off mountain activities to offer. Visit the Nordic center and explore 32 km of trails, go snowmobiling or treat yourself with a massage after a great day in the snow!
