The Ski Resort

Sundance Mountain Resort sits against the breathtaking Mount Timpanogos. The mountains height is extremely impressive with 12,000 foot. Not many places in the world can hold a candle to the beauty of the resort. Skiers appreciate the variety of the 72 runs- that spread over 450 acres and feature all ability levels from beginner to expert terrain. The steep and deep wide-open bowls and narrow-gladed chutes can´t be missed by any advances skiers. Everyone else will be totally satisfied with Sundance´s perfectly groomed runs. 

Sundance Mountain Resort opens the majority of the front mountain for night skiing during the peak of the season. Night skiing days are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Head to Top Gun, Montoya, Stampede, Maverick and even more to enjoy this special experience. New- you can ski the Terrain Park at night as well.
The philosophy of the Sundance Ski Team is to promote a love for the sport of skiing and outdoor activities and at the same time improve technical skills.

The mountain offers giant learning environments with dozens of runs to develop skills and gain confidence while working up to the steeps, deeps and bumps of the mountain´s vast terrain.
Starting from the Nordic Center you can either hit Ray´s lift or Handle Tow. Those two feature mainly generous green trails, perfect to warm up for the harder trails. Jake´s has a blue trail running parallel and additional blues like ´ Rollers´ and ´Maverick´ will please all intermediate skiers that visit Sundance.

At mid-mountain you can either ride with Flathead or Arrowhead. Flathead takes expert skiing pretty serious. From here you can access all the blacks, no matter if you prefer tree-skiing or deep bowls. ´Bishop´s Bowl´ is one of the longest runs and beginners should really steer clear since you can´t make up your mind when you already did half the trail. Arrowhead on the other side also gives intermediates a chance to discover the upper mountain. The great mix of blues and blacks makes the perfect place to ski outside your comfort level and improve and can easily be describes as the treasure chest of the Sundance Mountain. From Arrowhead lift you´ll have access to Ray´s lift which brings you to the front. Here you can hit the greens ´Navajo Cat Track´ and ´Sunnyside´ which are considered to be ideal for ski newbies.

On Mountain Dining

Fueling up is key to stay strong and continue to have an enjoyable day on the slopes. At Sundance Mountain you´ll have more than enough choices. Foundry Grill established in 1996. Since then you can enjoy amazing burgers, salads and other delicious treats.
Owl Bar has its origins in Thermopolis, Wyoming and now moved to Sundance. Luckily! The bar serves the best cocktails in town, has beer right from the tap and an extensive wine list. Since you shouldn´t drink on an empty stomach you can also enjoy an creative and seasonal menu. On Friday and Saturday nights, live-music is never a shortage here.
Sundance Deli with the convenient location offers fantastic sandwiches, salads homemade baked goods, coffee specialties and fruity smoothies.
Bearclaw has skiers fast food on the menu. Take Ride Ray´s and Arrowhead ski lifts to the only mountaintop lodge in Utah from where you have the awesome 360-degree view of the Heber and Utah Valley. Creekside is perfect for a fast snack or you can rent it for private groups around the year.

Must-Ski Runs

Bishop´s Bowl is a true Eldorado for skiers and boarders who look for fun. Definitely worth trying is the Far East. It´s a double black diamond run accessed from the top of Arrowhead Lift, and is accessible via the upper part of Bishop´s Bowl. After continue through the woods and then you have to stay on the ridges past Sauna´s Secret until you get to the bowls and ridges of the Far East.

Activities

Many activities away from skiing are available.
Snowshoers can explore the terrain on 10 kilometers of dedicated trails winding through the woods. Even if it sounds bizarre, you can go biking in the snow! You can actually rent Fat Bikes at the Sundance Nordic Center. The specially groomed trails guarantee a fun experience!
You can spell Spa in Capital letters in the resort. Enjoy relaxing massages, body and face treatments, as well as manicures and pedicures to forget the action-filled day on the skis. The Art Studio also gives you the possibility to forget the world around you. Spend two hours in an Art Studios workshop. You can decide between single-session workshops in jewelry making, wheel-thrown pottery, watercolor, acrylic or oil painting, printmaking, photography or drawing. This way you can create your own souvenir that you can happily take home. Several events throughout the year like ´Summer Theater´, ´Author Series´ and outstanding music, film& art festivals will always feel entertained.

Après-Ski and Nightlife

Apres-ski here can be described as laid-back and is mostly sitting together with family and friends bonding over good food. Owl Bar is not only great for eating on the mountain but also for some serious partying after lift closing times.

Dining and Restaurants

Zoom is one of the Insider tips, even if it´s not directly located in the Sundance Resort. Robert Redford opened  the Zoom in 1995 at the base of the historic Main Street in Park City. Nowadays it´s an award-winning restaurant that only uses local ingredients to guarantee the freshest American cuisine you can get. The wine list completes the restaurant´s offer and complements every dish.
Tree Room
is a great option if you´re up for fine dining. Seasonal mountain cuisine and candlelight atmosphere make your lunch or dinner here to a great experience. It gets extra special through the Native American art of Robert Reford´s private collection. If you need another proof how good the Four Star Restaurant is, it got Utah´s 2014 Best of State award for the amazing food.  And wine fans will also be pleased since they already received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2014 as well.

Getting here

Sundance offers the perfect getaway. Sundance is located just 55 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport and 45 minutes from Park City.

From Salt Lake City/Airport
Leaving the airport and look for I-80 east. After continue on I-215 in the southern direction. Leave the highway at exit Provo. After, take I-15 until exit 272. Drive on 800 North and pass Orem. Then change onto Highway 189 and drive for 7 miles on Route 92. From there follow the signage for Sundance ski resort.

From Park City
Take Hwy 248 to Highway 40. Turn right onto Highway 40 towards Heber City.
Drive through Heber City and turn right onto Highway 189 towards Provo. After,  turn right onto Scenic Route 92 and continue for 2 miles to the ski resort.
