Tettau Ski Resort

Trail Map Tettau

The Ski Resort

Tettau is THE winter sport hot spot in Frankenwald. The small ski resort in the North of the region features 3 lifts and 1,6 kilometers (1 mile) of skiable terrain. It´s considered to be an ideal family ski resort. The modern ski tows Kiesellift and Wildberglift bring the winter athletes right back up the mountain. After the Kiesellift the Höhenlift follows that brings you to the top peak at a height of 740 meters (2427 feet). This is also starting point for the Alpine ski race. Tettau boasts two red marked and three blue trails. The wide runs offer enough space to practice first curves, work on your technique know-how or just enjoy wide carving trails. Even on crowded days you´ll find your personal space and you should really focus on the new trails that are serviced by the Höhenlift. Those are really an enrichment for the ski resort. Night skiing is possible as well. Thanks to the floodlighting all night owls can conquer the runs every Monday and Friday until 9 pm.
Youngsters can attend the TSV 1860 Tettau or the local ski school and this way they will always be attended by a specially instructor who will do everything to make their learning experience a pleasant and memorable one.
Very popular with trainee ski jumpers is the youth ski-jump of the resort and even snowkiter will find their place in Tettau. Plus it´s always fun to be part or just watch one of the countless events that take place every year like dog sleigh races and more.

By featuring about 30 cross-country skiing tracks Tettau is a real eldorado for cross-country fans. Well groomed tracks invite everyone to enjoy the breathtaking landscape of the Frankenwald. The longest by far is the Kuhwald trail. Follow for 10 kilometers along the Rennsteig by passing the idyllic Kuhwald (forest) and it´s also recommendable for beginners that have a good fitness. Also head towards Wildberg trail that takes you along the border of Thuringia and is the gate to 7,5 kilometers (4,6 miles) of pure cross-country skiing fun. The competition cross-country ski run gives a short (5,3 kilometer=3,3 miles) and a longer (7,2 kilometer=4,5 miles) alternative.
