Venet - Family ski area

SKI RESORT

Venet is situated in the region of Oberinntal in Tyrol. It´s a real insider tip for everyone who likes to enjoy a breathtaking mountain world away from the hassle and craziness that are so characteristic for the huge ski resorts. This pretty much describes the calm and quietness of this relatively undiscovered resort. Since Venet is just a few minutes drive from the well frequented Inntal freeway away it´s fairly easy to get there for winter vacationers. The three base stations are Zams, Riefenal and Fliess.

With 22 kilometers (13,6 miles) of trails there´s more than enough terrain to satisfy all ability levels. In the valley area you´ll find a training lift for beginners. Venet always ranks among the most family friendliest resorts so a ski kindergarten can´t be missing. Look for it at the top station of the Venet gondola. The panorama trail is great to practice first curves but you´ll also meet intermediate skiers and snowboarders on your way down, those are also enjoying the fantastic view.
Intermediate trails in form of red slopes make up half of the terrain. Slip in your skis and off you go on the reds Rifenal trail or Weinberg trail. Venet is also well-know among Freeriders and cross-country skiers because here you´ll have more than enough options to go off-piste. Definitely check out the Venet or Meranza run.

Mountain huts and restaurants
The Gipfelhütte is 2212 meters and  7257 vertical feet above sea level and comes with killer views and refined food. The panorama restaurant offers next to the amazing panorama also hearty, traditional and local specialties. You can even stay overnight here!

Regional treats are on Zammer Schmankerl Alm´s menu as well. Head to the comfy mid-mountain hut when you take the Hüttenliftabfahrt (Mountain hut lift exit) 4a.

Trails you shouldn´t miss
A highlight of the resort is the extra long panorama run with an amazing view of the dreamy winter mountain world.

AFTER SKIING

Even away from the skiing and snowboarding fun is Venet worth a visit. There are many snowshoe tracks for all abilities available. During the hikes through the snowy landscape and wild-romantic forests you will for sure forget about all your worries and troubles.

Experience the thrill of tobogganing on one of the two runs. The toboggan run SÜD is right at the top station Venet and the run NORD is accessible by riding up to top station Riefenal.

Culinary
No way you will miss out on the culinary delights in Tyrol. Landeck and Zams feature some of the best restaurants in the area. The kitchen of the Hotel Schrofenstein is well-known across the country´s borders and has next to Austrian cuisine also Mediterranean specialties on the menu. The Postgasthof Gemse looks back on a long history and is one of the oldest restaurants in Tyrol. Since 1726 is this one owned by the family Haueis. They serve everything from their own farm, herb garden and what they hunted by themselves.
