The Ski Resort

©Weissensee Information

In Family Ski Resort Weissensee it's not hectic activity that determines what happens, but enjoyable carving on family-friendly descents. The four-seater chair lift and a total of four t-bar lifts provide access to the manageable ski area.

With three kilometres, the family run is the longest in the ski area and is also suitable for beginners who have not been skiing for long. In addition, the Seewiese descent and the descent from the Sonnenlift at the Naggleralm are also classified as easy. On the other hand, experienced skiers will get their money's worth on the 2.5 kilometre medium-difficulty FIS downhill run.

The hit for the little skiers is the Kinder-Skiwelt Weissensee with children's ski school. Here the little ones are well looked after and modern ascent aids are provided with a plate lift and a magic carpet. A ski carousel and a child-friendly lounge complete the offer. The local ski school also offers individual and group courses for adults.

For all those who would like to experience even more during a longer stay: From Weissensee there is a direct connection to the nearby ski area Hermagor-Nassfeld, the largest in Carinthia.

In summer, Lake Weissensee is one of the most popular and clearest lakes for swimming. In winter it becomes the largest natural ice surface in Europe and a true skating paradise. The wonderful scenery amidst the snow-covered mountain world makes skating here a very special experience. An ice master guarantees best conditions on the up to 40 centimeter thick ice layer, which is also used for Ice stick shooting, Ice hockey games or Ice speed skating. The unique surroundings also attract horse-drawn sleighs or walkers on ice.

Or how about a toboggan run before you start your way home? From the Nagger-Alm, the four-kilometre-long natural run leads down into the valley.
