Whiteface: The Olympic Mountain!

Ski where the best meet and compete! Whiteface was the site of the Winter Olympic Games in 1980 and offers terrific conditions for various winter sports! Here activities are not limited to downhill skiing and snowtubing. In fact, Whiteface offers almost every winter activity you can imagine! They range from downhill and Cross Country skiing to snowboarding, from ice skating to bobsled and skeleton, and from Nordic ski jumping to curling and much more! Skiers and riders have access to more than 90 hectares of skiable terrain with 86 trails for all skill levels. However, there are an additional 14 hectares of in-bounds, off-piste double black diamond trails called "The Slides". This is expert only terrain and only accessible by hiking from the summit. Yet, if you´re looking for a unique experience it is defintely worth the effort! Moreover, there are also over 20 hectares of tree skiing available. To cut a long story short: Whiteface is a freeskier´s paradise! Nevertheless, Whiteface can also be enjoyed by families and beginners. There is a separate beginner area available that provides easiest trails only. It is equipped with a triple chair lift starting from the Easy Acres Family Center and a magic carpet. However, if you´re little more experienced you shouldn´t miss a ride up to the summit. Take a break and take in the panoramic views of the Adirondack Mountains! Moreover, Whiteface has a fantastic terrain park with features for all skill levels. However, it is mainly desgined for intermediate park riders. Yet, Whiteface offers not only outstandig winter sport opportunities but also cares for your physical well-being. You can choose from 6 restaurants that feature delicious and affordable food and beverages. Whether you just need a coffee or a proper meal, there´s something for everyone! Also don´t forget to check the events calendar as there are multiple great events throughout the season such as the Nature Valley Freesytle Weltcup or the Intersport FIBT Bob and Skeleton World Cup.
