Zahmer Kaiser - the perfect place for families!


With its mostly blue and red runs, Zahmer Kaiser is a great destination for families, beginners and people re-entering the world of skiing and riding. The charming towns Ebbs and Durchholzen will give you access to this terrain. Everywhere in the resort beginners have dedicated learning areas in form of blue runs.

The trail off the lift ´Amberg´ even provides night skiing twice a week. Beginners should check out the blue slopes at the top of Zahmer Kaiser at 1060 m (3,477 ft) above sea level. Skiing down the slopes you can get to valley station Durcholzen. If you still don´t have enough, head over to the Aschinger Alm in Ebbs or to the summit station Zahmer Kaiser to find more blue trails.

The resort is home to a ski kindergarten of the local ski school and offers professional childcare for all youngsters. A special beginner´s area boasts a magic carpet and a ski carousel that help kiddies to develop their first ski skills.

Intermediate trails are abundant at the Zahmer Kaiser, the red valley slope to Durchholzen will even make the best skiers think twice.

Mountain Restaurants and Facilities

A total of six mountain facilities and warming huts will leave you tempted for a break. ´Berghof´, located at the top station of Zahmer Kaiser attracts with Tyrolean specialties, game dishes, international cuisine and a breathtaking view from their sun deck.

The mid-mountain restaurant ´Aschinger Alm´ is well-known for its alpine treats like ´Kasnudeln´ (cheese noodles), ox meat and local game specialties.

You will find more places to stop and get lunch at the valley stations of  Ebbs and Durchholzen, plus at the valley station of the lift ´Amberg´.

Trails, you shouldn´t miss

Don´t forget to ski the valley slope from the top of Zahmer Kaiser to Durchholzen. You can choose if you prefer the blue or red trails, both will take you down.

The blue run that is serviced by the lift ´Amberg´ gives skiers the chance to go night skiing and this way continue skiing after nightfall.



In case you are up for a thrilling toboggan ride, there are two runs to choose from.
Feel your heart race as you rush down the winding run from the top of Zahmer Kaiser to Durchholzen.
The second run starts at the ´Aschinger Alm´ and ends at ski tow No.10 beneath Ebbs.

Apres-Ski & Bars

A day in the ski resort wouldn´t be complete without experiencing the town´s apres-ski scene. If you prefer to end your day more relaxed with a drink or two, pay a visit to ´Kaminstubn´ in the street ´Hausbergerstrasse´. Of course you must try the ´Ramsbachstüberl´, located in the street ´Alleestrasse´.

Culinary Highlights

Hotel SCHICK´s restaurant , located by the lake ´Walchsee´ is one of the most recommended restaurants in the Zahmer Kaiser area. Guests here can expect a great fine dining experience and a high level of service. This restaurant offers gourmet and themed buffets with Tyrolean and Austrian specialties but also international influence. It takes pride in its wine list and provides wine tasting for all gourmets.
The restaurant of the ´Seehotel´ at lake ´Walchsee´ is owned and operated by Norbert Brunner and his sons. They expect you with their culinary highlights using seasonal products coming from the region. After dinner in this sophisticated restaurant, get your one for the road at the cozy hotel bar or by the fireplace.


By car:

Coming from Germany the resort is accessible via highway München-Rosenheim. Continue to follow highway Inntal towards Kufstein. Take exit Niederndorf, then follow the signs for 7 kilometers to Durchholzen-Walchsee.
