    Ideal for Beginners

Its sister resort Lake Louise has a little more beginner terrain. However, Mt. Norquay definitely is a destination to head to if you are yourself a beginner skier or if you are on vacation with kids who are eager to learn how to ski. The ski resort is the smallest one in the Banff region and is considered a locals mountain; it is very uncrowded and thus extremely attractive for families. Due to its small size, it is easy to navigate, which is another plus for families with kids.

In addition to the facts mentioned above, Mt. Norquayoffers inexpensive child care, a tubing hill and great ski school for all ages and levels. Norquay really is a peaceful place and worth visiting. What's more is the ski resort's progressive terrain: First-timers will likely stay around the Sundance surface lift at first, which is located adjacent to the base village lodge; once they feel securer, they may want to check out the long, slightly steeper green slopes served by Cascade chairlift. Anyone who grows tired of Sundance and Cascade is encouraged to go explore the runs served by Spirit. There are two blue runs, Ray's Run and Abracadabra, which will help the more advanced skiers push their limits.

More seasoned skiers and snowboarders should head to Mystic Lift which accesses numerous blue runs as well as some black diamonds, which beginners better keep off. Notwithstanding, Norquay offers great choices for beginners to get to know the ski area step by step according to their skills. However, Norquay's lifts are rather not beginner-friendly, as their are neither upholstered nor do they have ski rests.
