Satisfying Service, Good Slope Preparation

When it comes to service, there is no flies on Mt. Norquay. Grooming here is great, making for perfect slope conditions at all times of the day. Same with the ski resort's signposting: There is no way you'd get lost here, as signposting is excellent, making for great navigation and orientation throughout the resort.

On top of that, Norquay offers fantastic night skiing. Every Friday and Saturday the terrain park and runs adjacent to Sundance and Cascade are illuminated. As most of the runs are designated green, night skiing here is ideal for families with kids who love to get their fix of quality family time in the evening hours. For those who'd rather go partying, there is a free shuttle service getting you to Banff and back to the ski resort.

Anyways, what we liked best is the ski resort's well planned infrastructure. The base area is a major meeting point and gathering spot: Ticket window, ski rental, ski school, Cascade Lodge and Tube Lodge are what to find here. Moreover, Norquay is home to a generous free parking lot adjacent to the base area.

Verdict is in: Norquay is great in terms of service, signposting and grooming, yet there is also some room for improvement when it comes to WiFi and lift system. In order to receive and use fast internet, you better spend some more time at the lodges.

Moreover, Norquay's lift system is quite outdated and slow, lifts are not upholstered or equipped with weather protection covers, so every now and then you'd sit on snow-covered, unheated seats. Plus, there are no foot rests – and no such investments are planned in the near future.
